Onrus hosted the Walker Bay Pro competition. The event aroused great interest among amateurs and professionals who watched what was happening from the shore. For the first time in the history of the sport, eyewitnesses witnessed the first IBC Women’s World Cup title being won on African soil. Athletes struggled with powerful waves, up to 6 feet high.
4 athletes reached the final of the competition: Isabela Sousa and Alexandra Rinder, Neymara Carvalho and Pamela Bowen, who is a local star in this sport. Isabela was able to easily overtake her opponent, who showed an unusually low result in the last performance, in comparison with the rest. As a result of the past clashes, the athletes demonstrated the highest class, but the champion title went to Carvalla.
The semi-finals were held among men within the framework of the junior cup. At the same time, on the waves, Braden Hewitt met with Hugo Naud. Before that, Brenden fought in skill with Aaron Gimpel, who seemed to the judges to be a weaker athlete. So far, there have been games between Jeff Hubbard and Tristan Roberts, both of whom hold world-class titles. Hubbard thus earned his best result in the course of the competition. Another semi-final match was between Alan Munoz from Chile and Iain Cambell. Several successful jerks of the second of the athletes made it possible to take the lead

In the final, two of the best representatives of surfing in the world met: Naud and Hewitt. At the competition, they clearly demonstrated why they are considered masters. To overcome the opponent, everyone demonstrated professional riding, technique, complex transitions and pirouettes. Several powerful somersaults were made.
As a result, the gold medal went to Jeff, and in the women’s part of the competition – to Isabela. The South African athlete showed not only an excellent result, but also the fact that Africa is not in vain considered a mecca for surfers from all over the world.
